NEWSLETTER END OF 2ND TERM 2024/2025 SESSION Dear esteemed Parents/Guardians, All praise and adorations belong to Almighty God who in His immeasurable mercies and blessings protected and safeguarded us throughout this concluded term. We also extend our appreciation to you for your cooperation, support and understanding in making this second term 2024/2025 academic session a successful one despite all the economic challenges in the country. We pray to God to continue showering His countless blessings on us. Amen. Having said all these, we hereby deem it necessary to keep you abreast of the following; UNIFORM /DRESS CODE. It has been observed that students don’t always comply with the school dress code. We will no longer condone violation of the school policy on this anymore. Any student found wearing wrong uniform to the school will be sent back home. Also, the female students must comply with the hair style given to them at all times and the boys must cut the right hair without any style variation. Violation of these policies shall be viewed seriously by the school authority. LATENESS TO SCHOOL. Pupils/ Students are advised to come to school early and regularly as lateness to school will not be allowed. We do a lot of learning on the assembly in the morning such as Brain Drill on Vocabularies and Mathematical formulae. Students who are not in school on time will definitely miss out of this life-changing activities. Strict measures will be taken against any student coming late to school henceforth. EXTERNAL EXAMINATION REGISTRATION The school has registered its students for 2025 external examination (WAEC, NECO and BECE). We use this medium to advice our parents whose children are in this classes to encourage them to study hard for these exams for optimal performance. We have adequately prepare them , classes are still going on. With prayers, we are trusting and believing God for a better outcome . this year. Extension classes is on throughout the holiday. PREFECT - SHIP ELECTION The prefect-ship election is one of such that best portray the eloquence, charisma, persuasive spirit and healthy competition among learners and how they showcase their outspokenness and teamwork .There will be election of students parliaments for 2024/2025 Academic session .All aspirants shall carry out their campaign and give their manifestos before the election date. INTER HOUSE COMPETITION In the just concluded term, our learners where actively involved in the 2nd Biennial Inter House Sports held on Wednesday 26th February, 2025 at M.I Wushishi field .It was an opportunity for learners to showcase their sporting talents and infuse the domain into sports. This program was a window of opportunity to properly educate our learners on the expectations of a good sportsman. Below is the outcome of events with respect to the position of each house . Yellow House ---------1st Red House -------------2nd Green House -----------3rd Blue House --------------4th We wish to cease this medium to express our heartfelt gratitude to our esteemed parents/guardians for their unwavering support and contribution towards the success of the program. PROJECT . At the secondary school level, students will be asked to do projects on subject by subject basis. As a result, parents should get prepared to support their children on this when the need arises. SECURITY CONSCIOUSNESS: It is noteworthy that parents should be more security conscious and adhere strictly to the school policy. Principal/head teacher should be informed of any change in the arrangement of who picks up your ward(s) after school hours and whoever you authorize should be given a notification to the school. No child would be released to an unidentified person irrespective of the circumstances. Parents/guardians are not allowed into the classroom. They are to wait at the security post as their ward(s) will be brought to them. Kindly note that picking your ward(s) late thirty minutes after school hours will attract a fine of #1000.00 . Parents should take adequate care of sick or unwell child and desist from sending them to school with medications for teachers or others to administer. SCHOOL FEES. All parents are strongly advised to pay their wards’ fees before resumption of the 3rd term on 28th of April, 2025 because this will help the school plan effectively for a successful term. SCHOOL UNIFORMS:--- Please note that the insistence of the school that students should wear specified uniforms on specified days is to improve the school image and to train your wards towards good conformist tendency and in compliance with laid down rules. COMPLETE SCHOOL UNIFORMS:--- Students should dress up neatly in the complete uniform. SECONDARY BOYS : Trousers, shirt,suit/jacket, tie,white socks and pure black shoes. PRIMARY BOYS: Shorts, shirt, white socks and pure black shoes. SECONDARY GIRLS: Skirt, blouse, suit/jacket, tie, beret/ hijab,white socks and pure black shoes. PRIMARY GIRLS: Pinafore, blouse, white socks and pure black shoes. On Wednesday and Thursday students/ pupils should come in games wear and inter house sport wear of the House they belong to and white canvas and white socks. On Friday, students should dress in plain black jeans (not stoned wash or crazy jean), Orange T ’shirts and black shoe and white socks . NAILS: Some students keep long nails. This is not healthy and safe in the school environment. EARRINGS: The recommended earrings for girls is stud only. HAIRSTYLE (GIRLS):--- The school allows the girls to either come in simple braids (to lasts for four weeks) or plait the prescribed fortnightly hairstyle (a minimum of 12 pieces). The braids must be knotted neatly. Surprisingly, some girls come in neatly in the morning, but after one or two periods of lessons, they undo the knots and flaunt the braids. Some come from their homes looking very shabby in their hairstyles. This will no longer be tolerated. Anyone found wanting will be sent home or quarantined. NOTE:--- No beads is allowed for upper primary and secondary classes BOYS: (hairstyles) haircuts such as galaxy, afro, round cuts, carvings, etc. are not allowed in the school. Boys should be on low cut. SICKNESS/ILL HEALTH:--- We appeal to parents to please keep all sick children at home especially those with illness /diseases that are highly infectious/contagious such as conjunctivitis, cough, cold, catarrh and so on. If such children are brought to the school, they will not be allowed into the classrooms. We will appreciate your cooperation. ADMISSION:--- Admission into Creche, Nursery, Primary and Secondary is on. We implore you to help advertise Trophies International School where every child is a genius to your friends and neighbors.
